All About Teaching - Let's Begin

Welcome!

Teaching is not for everyone, that is for sure. If you have told anyone you are a teacher, I am positive you are used to the mixed responses: "I don't know how you deal with children all day!", "Must be great having so many holidays!" and the list goes on. Everyone has a reason for becoming a teacher, big or small.

My reason for becoming a teacher

Throughout my schooling, I often struggled with the concepts taught and felt my teachers at the time did not support me. This inspired me to become a teacher and help everyone in the classroom succeed. This does not mean an improvement in test scores. It relates to everything - social, behaviour, academic, etc.

Reason for the Blog

Now, I am not suggesting I know everything about teaching - I definitely don't. I don't think anyone will know everything. But that is why we collaborate and share ideas. I have been teaching since 2021, and that first year was tough. Thankfully, I was supported by amazing colleagues who helped guide me.

In this blog, I hope to help teachers with the knowledge I have learned and advice from my support network. Teaching is difficult, so if I can make it slightly easier, then another educator can focus their energy on supporting students.
